The band really must thank you all for your support and all the kind comments we received during the week and all the facebook comments that are still coming through. One of the high points to the week was our Sax Player Chris Backhouse surprise marriage proposal to his long term girlfriend Julia Hodgson on stage in front of the crowd with the help of Darren Redick from Planet Rock prior to the Think Floyd show. We do need to thank some key people who made this year so special so here goes:

www.rodosevents.gr   (Rhodes Rock 2010 preview article)

When these six hunky men climb on stage at the Rhodes Rock Fest and take their positions behind their instruments, the girls go wild. But since the male audience isn’t there to admire their brawn, the guys on stage make sure that they give their eager fans two hours of their best performance. The band, comprised of Jimi Anderson (vocals); John Oxley (guitar/backing vocals); Paul Flanaghan (bass/backing vocals); Craig Brown (keyboard/guitar/backing vocals); Chris Backhouse (sax); Ian Ferris (drums) deliver one hit after another as good as the original numbers, much to the delight of the fans of the original Foreigner and Journey bands, both of which are still very much active and still touring. As each number rolls into the next, Urgent suddenly comes up and the crowds go into a frenzy. This was probably Foreigner’s best song ever, and thanks to the memorable sax solo of Junior Walker, it eventually became the band’s most recognized tune. As “Urgent” is probably my favourite Foreigner number, I was elated to hear AFJ playing it so well. All the band members have many years of experience as professional musicians behind them but they have only been together as A Foreigners Journey for about two years or so and they are in great demand for gigs in the UK. And with a new addition to the fold, the award winning singer and songwriter, Jimi Anderson, the AFJ performance promises to be even better at this year’s festival. Some of the comments about AFJ from musicians and the media: ‘Come and check out this amazing band, they really ROCKS!’’ stated Foreigner bassist, Jeff Pilson.
‘Great idea, Foreigner and Journey, and it works, they look and sound superb’ was the comment from Tom Russell of 96.3 ROCK RADIO in the UK.

Road Report London & Southend

Well our trip south started well, arriving in good time at the legendary The Standard music venue in Walthamstow, great soundcheck and stage sound, it was nice to see a full venue in these difficult times for venue owners as well, we had some special guests also making it on the night 'The Mercy House' boys. ''Great to see you all again!. It was a really rocking night. As we headed back to the hotel it was time for a can or two of the old amber nector. We arrived at Southend around lunch time for an afternoon set up and soundcheck giving us all the afternoon to see the sights including the famous Pier which Craig, John and Paul ventured down, by train I might add, '' It is a hell of a long way, trust me'' We hit the stage around 9.40pm and we have to say that the sound provided by Steve was first class, Steve filmed the show and the quality was quite amazing, hopefully we will be able to broadcast something from this very soon. Again brill turn out considering it was our first time there, and the comments received were amazing after the show, some people had travelled from Wolverhampton to see us in London and then here tonight which is totally awesome, ''Thanks for your support guy's'' As we hit the road we can all say it had been an amazing weekend.

Thanks to Steve, Amanda & Paul for making our time in the South one to remember!!
